Known around the world as The Valley of the Leopards, South Luangwa offers one of the highest concentrations of these elusive cats anywhere in Africa. Watching a leopard emerge from the shadows at first light, stalk silently through ebony forests, or climb into a towering sausage tree is an experience that every wildlife photographer dreams about.

But South Luangwa is so much more than leopards.

During our week together, we'll photograph massive elephant herds crossing the Luangwa River, lions resting along the floodplains, colorful bee-eaters and kingfishers, giraffes feeding beneath ancient trees, enormous pods of hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible diversity of birdlife. Every game drive offers something different, and every day presents new photographic opportunities.

Our exclusive luxury camp is located inside South Luangwa National Park, placing us in the heart of the action. There are no daily park gates to navigate, no long commutes before sunrise, and no wasted photographic time. When the light is perfect and wildlife is active, we're already exactly where we need to be.

Our custom open 4x4 Land Cruisers are designed specifically for photographers, with every participant enjoying their own row of seats. This gives you complete freedom to move, compose, and shoot without competing for space—something that makes a tremendous difference when photographing fast-moving wildlife.

Between game drives, we'll continue photographing from our professionally designed hide overlooking a productive waterhole, where wildlife often comes within breathtaking photographic range. Whether you're capturing dramatic action or intimate portraits, you'll have opportunities throughout the day to build an exceptional portfolio.

Throughout the expedition, professional wildlife photographers Hector Astorga and Calvin Kotze will work alongside you in the field, helping you master camera settings, understand animal behavior, improve composition, anticipate wildlife encounters, and develop your creative vision. Whether you're an enthusiastic beginner or an experienced photographer, you'll receive personalized instruction designed to elevate your photography.

Deposits & Cancellation Policy:

  • A $2500 deposit is required at the time of enrollment with full payment due by May 15, 2026.

  • Deposits and tour/workshop fees are non-refundable.

  • Refunds (minus a 15% admin fee) will be given if the photo workshop is full and someone from the waiting list can take your spot.

  • We are not responsible for cancellations due to medical or other reasons.

  • Should cancellation be required due to severe weather, an alternate date will be scheduled at no additional charges.

  • No fees will be refunded if you withdraw after the photo workshop begins.
