Experience two of Texas’ premier wildlife photography destinations on one incredible photographic adventure.

Our Texas Coast & Ranch Photo Expedition begins along the Texas Gulf Coast, where we’ll photograph the endangered Whooping Crane and an incredible variety of coastal birds around Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. We then travel south to Santa Clara Ranch, one of South Texas’ premier private wildlife photography destinations.

TEXAS COAST & WHOOPING CRANES

Our coastal adventure includes three morning photography boat charters around Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, giving us excellent opportunities to photograph Whooping Cranes, Roseate Spoonbills, herons, egrets, pelicans, shorebirds, raptors, and other coastal species.

We’ll also have access to a private photography blind near the refuge, offering another opportunity to photograph Whooping Cranes from a completely different perspective.

SANTA CLARA RANCH

We then head into the South Texas Brush Country for three days of intensive wildlife photography at Santa Clara Ranch.

Specially designed photography blinds provide outstanding opportunities for eye-level images of South Texas specialties such as Green Jays, Great Kiskadees, Golden-fronted Woodpeckers, Crested Caracaras, Harris’s Hawks, and many other species.

We may also encounter Javelinas, White-tailed Deer, Armadillos, Mexican Ground Squirrels, and even the occasional Bobcat.

PHOTOGRAPHY & INSTRUCTION

This is more than a wildlife tour—it is a hands-on photography workshop in the field.

Throughout the expedition, we’ll work on camera settings, autofocus, birds in flight, exposure, composition, backgrounds, behavior, and anticipating action.

With a maximum of only six photographers, everyone receives plenty of photography opportunities and individual instruction.

The expedition includes three morning boat charters, private blind access near Aransas NWR, three days of photography at Santa Clara Ranch, professional photography instruction, ranch lodging, meals while at the ranch, and applicable taxes.

  • A $2000 deposit is required at the time of enrollment with full payment due by November 1, 2027.

  • If the photo workshop is full and someone from the waiting list can take your spot, your tuition is fully refundable minus a 15% cancellation fee.

  • We are not responsible for cancellations due to medical or other reasons.

  • Should cancellation be required due to severe weather, an alternate date will be scheduled at no additional charges.

  • No fees will be refunded if you withdraw after the photo workshop begins.
